A chance to hear a rising star at the beginning of his career! Playing music by Chopin, Debussy and Schubert.
In July 2021 Lithuanian pianist Ignas Maknickas received “The Queen’s Award for Excellence” as the highest-scoring graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. He has taken First Prize at the 19th Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Youth in Szafarnia, first prize at the 20th Piano Competition “Young Virtuoso” in Zagreb. In June 2023 he was selected from a pool of over 120 exceptionally talented musician, to become one of 6 Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) sponsored artists.
He has already appeared as soloist with orchestras around Europe, and 2024 highlights include Mozart K. 467 with London Mozart Players in London, Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 with Bloomington Symphony Orchestra in Indiana and solo recital at the Wigmore Hall in London.
