A look at what's happening this weekend
Lewes are at home tomorrow against a Potters Bar Town side that sit one point above them in the standings, with The Rooks improving their form of late and are unbeaten in their last four matches, although only one of those was a win for Craig Nelson’s side.
Elsewhere, Crowborough Athletic will be hoping to continue their climb up the table when they visit 13th in the league Horsham YMCA, while AFC Uckfield Town aim to play their first match at The Oaks since December when they host Infinity, as Jarvis Brook face an important test away against Worthing Town.
In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield are at home against a midtable Holland Sports side, as Barcombe travel to face the team they sit two points above in Nutfield Saturday, while Buxted host fourth in their league Willingdon Athletic.
Meanwhile, Nutley will play one of their division’s title contenders in Rotherfield 2nd’s at home, while Newick are in the Tester Cup quarter finals where they visit Ringmer AFC 4th’s who sit second in the division below.
Lastly in the men’s, Maresfield Village will welcome Lindfield 3rd’s, while Plumpton Athletic play at home against title contenders Scaynes Hill, who sit two points behind current league leaders Newick with four games left to play, while Hartfield aim to extend their good form as they visit AFC Varndeanians 3rd’s.
In women’s football on Sunday, Lewes are at the Dripping Pan and will host third place Ipswich Town, as AFC Uckfield Town face Seaford Town at home.
Over to the men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron will welcome Ashford, while Crowborough host second place Sevenoaks 2nd’s, with Uckfield hoping to play their twice postponed clash with Lewes at home.
Finally in women’s rugby, Sunday’s fixtures sees Heathfield & Waldron host a mid table Canterbury, while Uckfield visit Crawley knowing a win should see them rise from the bottom of the standings.
