Chailey Repair Cafe busier than ever

The popular monthly event has seen over 4000 repairs tackled since their launch in 2018.

Chailey Repair Cafe usually takes place on the second Saturday of each month at St Peter's Church on the A275 and take on almost any repair.

A team of skilled volunteers attempt to repair your items and during March they took on a sewing machine, a teddy bear, a clothes airer and an antique lamp. You can also visit to sharpen garden tools and kitchen knives.

It's part of a larger, worldwide movement where teams of experts repair items for free, with donations invited towards the running costs. The public are invited to bring broken items or clothing from home to be repaired.

As they are getting busier, there may be a wait to be seen (they are unable to provide a drop off service) but the repairer will also show you what they do to help with any future fixes required! They are unable to assist with microwaves or fridges.

The next Chailey Repair Cafe is scheduled for Saturday 13 May, for more details, you can email chaileyrc@gmail.com
