East Hoathly Residents Plan To Take Over The Local Pub

Residents of East Hoathly have voting to plans for the community to take over the Kings Head pub in the village.

Meetings were held in the village at the end of February and the beginning of March, where over 300 people cast a vote in favour of taking over the local public house.

East Hoathly with Halland Community Benefit Society aims to purchase The Kings Head to ensure that it is owned and controlled by local residents.

The Group has also launched a public consultation. Campaigner Alison Walker said: "A thriving pub benefits everyone in the community, so as the only remaining pub in this historical village it's vital to secure its future."

The pub is currently on the market for £700,000. It has been run by landlord and landlady Robert and Tracy Wallis for 29 years.
