Fletching parish has been designated as a Neighbourhood Area.
The first formal stage in the preparation of a Neighbourhood Development Plan is the designation of a neighbourhood area and Wealden District Council’s head of Planning Policy, Economy and Climate Change is authorised to determine neighbourhood area designation applications for Neighbourhood Developments Plans.
In this case it was considered that the application to designate the whole of Fletching parish as a neighbourhood area met the requirements of Regulations 5 and 5A of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
Regulations 6 and 6A did not apply in this case and a public consultation was not required. Therefore on 22 August 2023, a decision notice was issued confirming that the parish of Fletching has been designated as a neighbourhood area for the purpose of producing a Neighbourhood Development Plan.
The Decision Notice, Designation Report and Neighbourhood Area Map, as well as the application letter, can be found on our Neighbourhood Planning page at https://www.wealden.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy/neighbourhood-planning/
