Sounds of ELO, Elton and Dolly & Friends Rock the Bandstand

Bank Holiday Week Celebrations are on

The summer holidays fun continues at Eastbourne Bandstand this August Bank Holiday week with tribute shows and party nights.

The music begins on Friday 25 August with an Elton John tribute show starring Essentially Elton by Jimmy, who recreates the great sound of Elton John with the enthusiasm and flamboyance of any Elton John concert.

Critics say fans won’t find a more qualified, dignified or accurate tribute to Sir Elton John anywhere in the world than Jimmy, who takes the audience through hits from Rocketman to Candle in the Wind.

The evening of Saturday 26 August is the turn of ELO Encounter as they pay homage to the sounds of The Electric Light Orchestra, a symphonic force majeure and unique fusion of driving rock and classical strings.

The ELO Encounter are the world's foremost tribute to The Electric Light Orchestra and rock and roll lovers can enjoy an incredible show which accurately reproduces the songs and sounds on a magical musical journey through time.

Lewisham Concert Band is the guest band at the Traditional Afternoon Concert on Sunday 27 August starting at 3pm at the Bandstand.

Sunday night it’s time to step back in time with a tribute show to Dolly Parton and Friends starring Sarah Jayne and guests.

Featuring the soulful tones of Sarah Jayne as Dolly Parton and wonderful replica costumes, her reputation and performance are at the top of the industry as a tribute to the American superstar that is Dolly, with star guest Andy Crust as the No1 tribute to Kenny Rogers.

Music returns on Bank Holiday Monday 28 August with the final Open Stage Night when musicians have the chance to take to the Bandstand stage and show off their talent. Entry is free.

Tuesday night is the final Kids’ Disco Party Night of the season and on the evening of Tuesday 29 August, DJ Oli and DJ Jay will be playing music from the charts and some family favourites.

Brighton & Hove City Brass will perform at the 1812 Night on Wednesday 30 August for a night of iconic concert music with a firework finale.

The seven days of music and entertainment concludes on Thursday 31 August with a Neil Diamond Tribute Show.

Described in Las Vegas as “one of the world’s finest vocal tributes to Neil Diamond”, Bob Drury has been astounding audiences with his vocal likeness to the man himself for more than 10 years.

‘The Neil Diamond Story’ Bob is joined on stage by his amazing band as they track Neil’s journey from an unknown and struggling New York ‘Tin Pan Alley’ songwriter to international recording and performing mega-star. The show is packed with music and features every stage of Neil Diamond’s staggering career which has spanned more than five decades.

Tribute tickets for Bandstand performances cost £11 for adults in advance (child £9) and doors open at 7pm for 8pm performances. Friends of Eastbourne Bandstand cardholders receive 10% off most ticket prices.
