Over 50 local gardens in the community are opening their gates to the public in aid of local hospice care in Mid Sussex.
St Peter & St James Hospice Open Gardens season is back for 2022 and it’s set to bigger and better than ever! The Summer long event launches on Saturday 21st May with the Hospice itself opening its grounds to visitors.
This year there will be 6 village garden trails in the community, with Plumpton, Lindfield, Ringmer, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks and Burgess Hill all taking part. Alongside these are many beautiful individual gardens, including The Old Rectory in Newick, Newtimber Place in Newtimber and Chestnut Farm in Nutley. The full event list for the Summer is below:

At the Hospice Open Garden visitors can expect guided tours of the ancient woodlands, grab a bargain from retail and plant stalls and take part in various children’s activities. Burgess Hill Women's Institute will also be on hand to provide refreshments including tea, coffee and cake. Bring the whole family along for a lovely afternoon of fun plus the chance to meet our infamous Hospice donkeys, Dudley & Dylan.
