Waste collections to start at 6am.
Due to a Level 3 Heat-Health Alert issued by the Met Office, Wealden District Council is asking residents expecting a rubbish, recycling or garden waste bin collection this week between Wednesday 10 August and Friday 12 August to place their bins out ready to be emptied by 6am on their normal collection day or, preferably the evening before, during this period of intense heat.
To help reduce the risk to operatives emptying bins during this period where temperatures are expected to exceed 30ºC, crews will be starting work earlier than normal from 6am.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
