Elsewhere, in cup competitions, Jarvis Brook were five-one winners against Rustington.  Plumpton beat Royal Earlswood Reserves three-one, but Rotherfield lost four-one at Bosham

In the Isthmian Premier Division, Lewes’s play-off hopes suffered a setback with a two-nil defeat at Aveley.

There was disappointment too for Brighton and Hove Albion, as they conceded the only goal in the 88th minute against Fulham at the Amex Stadium.

For local rugby, Uckfield moved up to third place after a narrow 27-24 victory at local rivals Burgess Hill.  Meanwhile, there was a good win for Crowborough, who overcame Thanet Wanderers by 33 points to seven.
