Weekend Sprting Preview

Lewes face a great opportunity to end their bad run of form when they welcome second from bottom Bowser & Pitsea to the Dripping Pan tomorrow, with The Rooks without a win in their last eight matches.

Crowborough Athletic face another important match as they travel to face sixth placed Eastbourne United, who they lead by four points in fourth, while AFC Uckfield Town will be hoping to build from last weekend's great result away against Oakwood, as Jarvis Brook visit the St Francis Rangers.

In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Rotherfield are at home against second from last Crawley Devils, while Ridgewood visit Westfield Reserves in the Sussex Intermediate Challenge Cup, with Barcombe welcoming second in their league Cuckfield Rangers.

Meanwhile, more cup action sees Buxted visit Southwick in the Stratford Cup third round, while Hartfield travel to face Hurstpierpoint 2nd’s in the Tester Cup.

Finally in the men’s, second place Newick will host midtable Lindfield 3rd’s, as Maresfield Village visit Ansty FC 2nd’s, while Plumpton Athletic play away to fourth in the league Ditchling.

And in women’s football on Sunday, Lewes return from their winter break and will visit fourth place Watford, while AFC Uckfield Town face a big test away from home in their league leaders The View, who have won all eight of their league fixtures so far.

Now to men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron will visit the team directly above them in third place Sevenoaks 2nd’s, while Crowborough travel to face a Dover side two points behind them in the standings, as Uckfield play their important rearranged fixture at home against Lewes.

Finally in women’s rugby, Sunday’s fixtures will see Uckfield visit the Crawley Devils, with the two teams level on points in fifth and sixth places respectively.
