Trevor Weeks MBE, founder of East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service will be running the Bates Green Gallop in Arlington.
He'll be running at the event on 18 September, to raise much needed funds for the charities Wildlife Crisis Appeal.
The course is 3.5 miles long and Trevor will cover as many laps as he can, with his best attempt so far at 4 laps!
The Wildlife Crisis Appeal was launched due to the worsening crisis wildlife across the county is facing.
“With Rogers Wildlife Rescue in Brighton permanently closed, others temporarily closed or operating at limit capacity, there has been a major problem for our local wildlife, a situation which gets worse every year” explained Trevor.
"The demand on our service is huge and the resources just don’t exist to deal with everything. Its heart breaking at times. We want to do more but it’s a struggle. We are working closely with our friends in other local rescues and supporting them where possible too. The only long term way forward is for us to establish a new and improve Casualty Centre in the heart of East Sussex with bigger and better facilities. A location where we can expand and develop our facilities and provide a long term future for sick, injured, orphaned and trapped wildlife locally”
